First go to   bit.ly/lowtonpdroster
or
bit.ly/lowtonwhspdroster (if from SAU 21)
to sign in and receive a certificate of attendance

Now go to    bit.ly/drivescavenger
and do the Google Drive Scavenger hunt with a second tab open to get to your Google Drive while doing the scavenger hunt. Do this activity with a partner or group!

When done, create a Blank Spreadsheet and open in a separate tab to complete the spreadsheet part of this session filled in with the table info below. Then try the steps while waiting for the group.

Working with Google Spreadsheets

Google spreadsheets allows for manipulation of data, creation of informational charts and tables from that data as well as great gadgets (now called Add-ons) like flashcards, Wordle clouds and more. You can also do mail merges with Google Document using a very cool script called autocrat.  There are size limits though as each spreadsheet can only have up to 400,000 cells spreading across 256 columns. For more on size limits for the Google Exam click here.
In this session we will cover:
  1. creating a spreadsheet
  2. formatting columns, rows and cells
  3. auto-fill (auto fill down a row or multiple formulas across columns)
  4. simple formulas of AVERAGE, MIN and MAX
5. sharing options
  6. Charts
  7. Add-ons

  1. type the following info into your spreadsheet:
Student

  • center data in columns for Gender and Codes
  • Make “Race Test Codes” two lines (2 ways to do this)
  • Get the Average of NECAP FALL, then then MIN or lowest score beneath that and the MAX below that.
  • Autofill these formulas across the next two columns in one step
  • Filter for Females only
  • Sort Range A-Z for student names but not including the formula rows
  • create a bar chart of the NWEA Spring versus NWEA Fall scores in NH
